Note: I know we were supposed to "interview" someone who is an expert at something, but at the moment the only expert I can think of is me.
Growing up my dad has always been the one who has sewn the buttons on button-less shirts, changed the oil on all the cars and wrapped all the presents.
Present wrapping fascinated me. I used to just sit and watch my dad measure the right amount of paper for the size of box the present was in. He used to put tape in all the right places so that you would never be able to see it unless your nose was pressed against the package.
When I started working at a Hallmark store, I was so excited. I got to work in a store where they gift wrap things all the time!
Throughout my first Christmas season, I perfected my skills. I took a note from my dad's "book" and learned how to hide the tape. I measured the paper to the right size to fit the box and I creased the corners of the paper.
So far I have been working at hallmark for almost three years and have mastered my wrapping skills. i am at the point where I have learned tricks to make my wrapping more elegant. I pull tight on the paper giving the present a cleaner look. I learned the best place to put a bow to accent certain papers or box sizes. I am now the "go to girl" at work and within my family when it comes to wrapping.
